I am a professor, visual analytics researcher, tool builder, and dabbler in computational art. Most of what I do can be characterized as finding ways to support human cognition and creativity with technology. I teach across the curriculum, with focus on applied areas like visualization, graphics, and systems. My toy box includes data visualization, large/alternative displays, multimedia programming, and a smattering of machine learning. I will also admit to being a photographer (with a lackluster record of updating online galleries), a keen paddler of Vermont's waterways, occasional guitar operator, and a Whovian from back when that term was actually used...
