CS 702 Senior Thesis

Thesis

This is it -- the big one.

What we expect is laid out in the guidelines.

This is all about the submission, and at this point you should have written enough drafts and had enough back and forth with your advisor to be reasonably confident about the content of the thesis. However, you should still do one final pass over your work (I encourage you to do this in the PDF so you can catch rendering issues):

  • Even if the spell checker is happy, you should do one final read for spelling and grammar issues.
  • Does the front page look correct? Does it have the correct date? title? your name? your advisor's name?
  • Do the tables of contents, tables, and figures have the correct page numbers?
  • Have all of the references resolved, and do they point to the correct papers, figures and tables?
  • Are your figures in the right place and at an appropriate size?
  • Are your references correct and in a consistent format?

Once you are feeling confident that the thesis is in good shape, please submit it.

Archiving

We would like to build up a digital library of computer science theses that are accessible to other students (and anyone else who is interested). As such, we ask you to please submit your work to Middlebury's digital archive (go/scholarship). The submission form can be found at go/submit. It is worth waiting until your thesis has been graded before submitting in case your readers catch any last errors or issues with your manuscript.
