Elevator Pitch

You may think elevator pitches are for entrepreneurs, but they are important for researchers, too! Imagine you are at the coffee break at a conference, and you start chatting with another student. They ask, "what are you working on?" You should be able to respond with a concise explanation of what question(s) you want to answer, why, how you plan to go about doing it, and progress you've made.

For this assignment, you will record a 1-2 minute elevator pitch. You will create several of these pitches over the course of the semester. Each new elevator pitch should incorporate feedback on your previous pitches and new research progress. Your target audience should be a 4th-year computer science student who knows nothing about your research. Feel free to use the following template, or something similar in your own words.

So there's this problem [insert your problem here] and people care about it because [insert why here]. My plan is to [insert your methods here]. So far I've [insert progress/results here].
