CS 313 - Final exam info

Submit your scanned exam here.

The final exam will be offered remotely. It is officially a 3-hour exam, but you may have up to 4 hours.

Like the midterm, the final exam is open notes (any written or printed material). You may not use any electronic devices or access the Internet. In particular, you may not search the web, look at any online material (including the course page), and you may not run any code or type expressions into interpreters. You may never access any CS 313 course materials from previous terms.

All work that you do on the exam must be your own. You may not talk to anyone while you are taking the exam, and you may not talk about the exam with other students until the end of the last exam slot.

The exam will be emailed to you as a PDF file. You should print it, fill out the paper copy, then scan it as a single PDF file, and submit it via the link at the top of this page.

I will allocate an additional hour to allow for printing and scanning. If you don't have access to a printer, please email me. For scanning, use an app that allows scanning as PDF. I recommend Genius Scan (available free for iOS and Android). Please practice scanning a multi-page document as a single PDF ahead of time. If the submission form does not work for some reason, you can email me the exam. Do not send me photos of the pages, you will lose points.

The exam will be offered remotely in the following 5-hour slots (4 hours for the exam; 1 hour for printing and scanning):

MonDec 13: 6pm-11pm
TueDec 14:10am-3pm, 6pm-11pm
WedDec 15:10am-3pm, 6pm-11pm
ThuDec 16:10am-3pm, 6pm-11pm
FriDec 17:10am-3pm
All times are EST (Vermont time)

To request taking the exam in one of these slots, please fill out this form at least 3 hours in advance. If none of the slots work for you, please get in touch with me right away.

If, while taking the exam, you think a question is unclear or there is an error somewhere, you may send me an email, but I cannot guarantee that I will respond right away.
