CS 702 - Posters

Information on creating a poster for your senior thesis:

  1. Use PowerPoint (installed in MBH 632) or Adobe Illustrator (installed in MBH 116/117)

  2. The width of the paper is 42". If you use PowerPoint, the maximum paper length is 56".

  3. Size and layout (portrait / landscape) are up to you. Check out the posters in MBH 632 for ideas.

  4. Leave 1" margins. If you use the full width in PowerPoint (56"), make sure no textbox is closer than 2" to the right border.

  5. Make sure the title and your name are prominently displayed. You should also list the name of your adviser.

  6. Come up with a clean layout. Avoid cramming in too much text or too much information.

  7. Your poster should make sense by itself, but should also be helpful if you had to explain your work to someone.
