How To Install

Windows

Mac OSX

  1. Download the Midd Spyder Windows installer above. It will be named "midd_spyder_windows_<versionNumber>.exe".
  2. Go to the location where the file was downloaded (the default location for most popular browsers is your Downloads folder).
  3. Run the installer by either double-clicking on it or right-clicking it and selecting "Open".
  4. You may receive a message that the application is not certified by Microsoft. Click "More Info" and allow the application to run.
  5. If User Account Control asks you to allow the app to make changes to your PC, click "Yes".
  6. A window titled "Middlebury Spyder Setup" will open and begin installing Spyder.
  7. Once the installation completes, you may get an error that says Please resolve the following: A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine". You can ignore this error by clicking "Close" and then clicking "Close" on the installer window.
  8. Middlebury Spyder is now installed on your machine and ready for use. By default, the installer creates a desktop icon for you to open the program. Once open, you can pin the program to your taskbar or start menu (a quick Google search will explain how to do this, if you want). If there is no desktop icon, you can find the application at this location.

  1. Download the Midd Spyder Mac application folder above. It will be named "midd_spyder_osx_<versionNumber>.zip".
  2. Go to the location where the file was downloaded (the default location for most popular browsers is your Downloads folder).
  3. Unzip the folder by double-clicking on it or right-clicking it and selection "Open".
  4. The unzipped folder's name should be it's version number. Inside the folder will be Spyder.app.
  5. The first time you try to open Spyder.app by double-clicking, you will likely get an error that says: Spyder.app cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. To bypass this, right-click Spyder.app and select "Open". This will open the same error message, except this time there will be an option to Open the application. Click "Open" and the app should launch. NOTE: After doing this once, you should be able to just double-click the app to open it in the future.
  6. The application itself is stand-alone. That means you can move it out of the version folder it came in and it will bring all of its library files with it. I recommend putting it in your Applications folder. Midd Spyder is now ready for use.
